A stack of printed materials is ready, and you make sure everything is finished neatly. As a trainee machine operator in Westzaan, you will learn step by step how to set up and operate modern finishing machines. You do not need to know the job yet: technical skills and a willingness to learn are more important. You will receive guidance on the job and gradually take on more responsibility. You will start by preparing materials and getting to know the machines. Together with experienced colleagues, you make sure the printed materials are finished neatly. By the end of your shift, the products have been checked and are ready for the next step.
You will always start this position as a packer. This allows you to get to know the machines and become familiar with the pace of the work.

- Bring products and materials to and from the machines and prepare the machine for production.
- Set up and operate finishing machines and monitor the production process.
- Solve minor technical problems, carry out basic maintenance and help with other machines when needed.

Waar ga je aan het werk?
You will work for an international specialist in printing and communication for the horticultural sector. In Westzaan, the company produces plant labels, stickers, packaging and promotional materials. Around 40 employees work in the finishing department using modern machines.
The working environment is practical and straightforward: everyone works together to get the job done properly and on time. You will get the opportunity to learn a technical profession. For example, one colleague started as a packer and later progressed to team leader.
